The Bugle Boy Of Bloody Hill

This morning, while looking over Oak Hill, at the Wilson’s Creek Battlefield in Springfield, Missouri, I was reminded that so many of our ancestors sacrificed their lives to a war that was fought in prejudice, unwarranted pride and greed.

Although, the hero of this book was a young Confederate soldier, it was not my intention to diminish the valiant soldiers that fought for the Union armies.

Young Willy Alford, raised in Springfield, Missouri was a bugle boy for Captain Timothy Rowland of the Confederate Army under the command of Brigadier General Benjamin McCulloch during the battle at Wilson’s Creek on Oak Hill, now called, “Bloody Hill.”

Willy used his God-given talent in order to protect his comrades-in-arms and his birthplace from the invasion of Northern Union soldiers.

A fictional hero surrounded by actual events of the Civil War fought at Wilson's Creek on "Bloody Hill" in Missouri!
